Statement of Work

Deliverables, completion standards & base session pay

TXSNOW instructors in lime green uniforms teaching a snowboard session.

Instructors provide services as independent contractors. The work set out in this document constitutes the agreed deliverables.

Base session pay is calculated from the deliverables accepted as complete and the agreed percentage assigned to each.

Your choices when selling and accepting sessions

When appropriately qualified, instructors may choose whether to include an applicable Park or Course Conductor / Evaluator add-on when selling their own sessions. They may also choose a lower instructor tier. Existing pricing and session eligibility rules for add-ons still apply; holding a qualification does not require an add-on on every order.

In addition to selling their own sessions, instructors may voluntarily accept lower-tier bookings. For example, a Level 3 instructor may accept a Level 2 or Level 1 booking, and an instructor qualified for an add-on may accept a regular session without that add-on.

All other qualification requirements still apply. For example, a Level 3 certificate alone does not confer Kids Master eligibility; the instructor must hold the KM authorization required for the applicable age group.

How base session pay is calculated

Base session pay earned = Agreed base session pay × Total accepted percentage

For example, if the agreed base session pay is $180, a deliverable worth 10% accounts for $18.

Base session pay for guest cancellations or student no-shows

Any deliverables that cannot be completed solely because the guest cancels or the student does not attend—including session delivery, videos, an instructor–student photo and post-session feedback—are waived. Base session pay will not be reduced because these deliverables could not be completed.

Three essential requirements

A. Confirm both forms are signed before the session

Confirm that both the waiver and pre-session intake form for the student taking the session have been signed.

B. Wear the TXSNOW instructor uniform

The uniform must be worn when delivering TXSNOW sessions.

C. KM sessions: verify the pickup code before releasing a child

Release the child to the parent only after the correct pickup code has been verified and the form has been submitted.

A. Confirm the waiver and pre-session intake form are both signed

Confirm signatures first: before teaching, confirm that both the waiver and pre-session intake form for the student taking the session have been signed. Any unsigned form must be signed before the session begins.

Then review: read the pre-session intake form, including medical history and emergency contact details, so you can respond promptly if needed.

A1. If a different student takes over

Examples include a father taking a sick child’s place, or a student becoming tired partway through and having a relative, boyfriend, close friend or classmate continue the session instead. The replacement student’s documents must be checked in every such case.

A2. Why confirming signatures matters

If a waiver has not been properly completed and signed, or the name does not match the person taking the session, evidence that risks were disclosed and liability terms were agreed may be missing. This can expose the instructor and TXSNOW to significant legal risk if the student is injured and makes a claim or brings a lawsuit.

A properly completed and signed waiver helps preserve evidence needed to defend against a liability claim.

B. Wear the TXSNOW instructor uniform

You must wear the instructor uniform when delivering TXSNOW sessions. Keeping it in your car is recommended so you are ready if a session opportunity comes up.

C. KM sessions: a safe handover using the pickup code

The parent sets a pickup code in the pre-session intake form. A link to the TXSNOW pickup-code form is sent to the session group chat.

  1. Ask the parent to enter the code in front of you.
  2. Confirm that the code is correct.
  3. Confirm that the form has been submitted.
  4. Release the child to the parent.

Detailed session deliverables

1. Get to know the student

10% · All session types

Before the session, confirm the student’s name, current skiing or snowboarding ability and learning needs. Also ask what they prefer to be called.

Use the pre-session intake form and your conversation with the student to assess whether their goals are appropriate for their ability.

2. Set realistic expectations

10% · All session types

What a student hopes to achieve—and what one session can realistically deliver

Students who are athletic in other sports may be especially likely to overestimate how quickly they will progress.

Explain a realistic pace of progress before the session. Help the student set achievable expectations so the learning experience is both enjoyable and grounded in what is possible.

3. Confirm the meeting arrangements

10% · All session types

Before the session, share a meeting-point map or agree on the student’s preferred meeting location. Confirm both the time and the place.

4. Deliver the session as booked

Regular & KM: 30% · Snow Buddy Time: 60%

Complete every purchased session component within the booked time, in accordance with the session type and safety requirements.

5. Record three videos

10% · Regular & KM sessions

Record one video at the beginning, one midway through and one near the end. Each should be 15 seconds to 1 minute long, helping the student see their skiing or snowboarding technique.

Videos are not required for Snow Buddy Time, although instructors may choose to record them.

6. Take an instructor–student photo

10% · All session types

Take a photo with the student before the session ends and post it in the session group chat to capture a memorable moment from the day.

You can take a selfie or ask someone accompanying the student to take the photo.

7. Submit post-session feedback

20% · Regular & KM sessions
  • Where to find the form: TXSNOW homepage → Instructor Tools → Frequently Used Instructor Forms → Post-session feedback.
  • Language: use the language the student or parent normally uses. For example, use Chinese if that is the parent’s usual language. Use English if you are unsure.
  • One form per student: in a multi-student session, submit separate post-session feedback for each student. A single group report does not meet this requirement.
  • Instructor ratings: a rating link is included with the post-session feedback. Students may choose whether to complete it; instructors do not need to send a separate invitation.

Punctuality & instructor rescheduling

Our commitment to being on time

If the instructor is late: session pay is not reduced for lateness. Instead, provide additional session time equal to twice the actual delay, preferably on the same day. If that is not possible, TXSNOW Support will record the arrangements for later compensation in accordance with the policy.

Notify promptly: post your estimated arrival time and how many extra minutes you will provide as compensation in the session group chat, and notify TXSNOW Support as well.

Instructor session checklist

Session types: Regular session · KM session · Snow Buddy Time · Dynamic Group Session · Combo session

Before the session: verify, then confirm

  • Requirement A: confirm that both the waiver and pre-session intake form for the student taking the session have been signed.
  • Deliverable 1: confirm the student’s name, preferred name, ability and learning needs.
  • Deliverable 2: agree on realistic goals and expectations with the student or parent.
  • Deliverable 3: share a meeting-point map or confirm the agreed location, and check the meeting time.
  • Requirement B: wear the TXSNOW instructor uniform.
  • Be ready on time: arrive at the resort 15 minutes before the session and be at the meeting point ahead of the student.
  • KM sessions: confirm that the pickup-code link has been received in the session group chat.

Before the session: read the pre-session intake form, including medical history and emergency contacts. Make a reasonable effort to check the legal name; legal-name verification is not a zero-pay condition.

During the session: instruction & videos

  • Deliverable 4: provide the booked session type and duration in accordance with safety requirements. For a Combo session, complete every purchased component.
  • Deliverable 5: record a video at the beginning, midway through and near the end, each 15 seconds to 1 minute long. Not required for Snow Buddy Time.
  • If a different student takes over: confirm that their waiver and pre-session intake form have both been signed before teaching them.

At the end: photos, sharing & child pickup

  • Deliverable 6: take an instructor–student photo and post it in the session group chat.
  • Video delivery: all three videos have been posted in the group chat. Sharing them only by AirDrop does not count as completion.
  • Requirement C | KM sessions: the parent enters the pickup code in front of you. Release the child only after confirming the correct code and successful form submission.
  • Safety-related recording exceptions: explain in the group chat why a photo or video could not safely be taken and obtain an exemption from TXSNOW Support. The affected deliverable remains payable at its original percentage.

Within 48 hours: individual post-session feedback

  • Deliverable 7: submit post-session feedback. Not required for Snow Buddy Time.
  • Use the student’s or parent’s usual language, or English if unsure. The rating link is included with the post-session feedback, so no separate invitation is needed.
